noreast got a reaction from bdwells in Fusion ride 4 cylider vs 6 cylinder
    Hello jtb3,
Thank you for correcting what I said. And this explains why I did not notice any difference when I test drove the V6 and I4, duh!
I should, in turn, call my sales rep and correct him too. He is the one who told me so when I bought my car. I wonder what else I got wrong from this fountain of knowledge! He already got me wrong info on the Sync system (actually, failed to mention that you can use voice command with Radio and Climate control ONLY if you have the Nav. option.)

You've opened a can of worms, so here's MY opinion...lol If the paint is new and not scratched up, use the Maguiars NXT 2.0 for a wax. It makes the water run off the car for about 3 months with 8 washes in-between. It's a polymer that actually bonds with the clearcoat, so clay the car first to make sure it's smooth and clean. After that, clay it every 6 months and you'll keep it looking new. I've been using it on my truck for a little over a year, and my truck looks brand new still. (2008 F150) I've been using it on my Fusion for the last 8 months, and did it the second day I owned it.

The best part is, it goes on easy, and comes off just as easy. The Maguiers Gold Class is good stuff too. ALL of the Maguiers is good stuff, so I doubt there will be any disagreement there.

When the weather warms, I'll clay the surface and apply two coats of Maguire's Gold Class paste wax. I wait over night to apply the second coat to give the first coat time to harden. Paste wax requires a little more work but I believe it provides better protection and a nice, long lasting shine. After about three months I'll apply one coat of wax and in fall apply two coats of wax to protect for the winter. I have access to an indoor was rack and wash my Fusion (and past Ford vehicles) by hand once a week. I applied two coats of wax in October and the water is still beading on the hood and roof. My method may seem like over kill, but that's the way I like to do it. I clean the interior surfaces with a damp cloth every time I wash and apply low shine Armor All to the vinyl surfaces every couple of months or so. I haven't had to clean the leather, yet. In spring I"ll clean the wheels with Mother's aluminum polish and protect with a light coat of wax. I spent the extra $$ and purchased a set of Weathertech floor mats for the front which work great to keep the carpets clean. My Fusion looks so good, it's a shame not to keep it looking beautiful.
