  1. When you burned your CDs there was probably a check off box that you missed to show the artist, song name etc. Go back to where you store your music on your computer and reburn them but look for those check off boxes. I am sure that's your problem. That is unless your music didnt have any of that info when you put it into your computer. Check that out and post again what you find.
  2. At 8000 miles, mostly highway driving, my brakes have developed a consistent squeak in slow braking situations. I took it to the dealer once so far and they could not reproduce it. I'm going to take it again and be clearer about the conditions under which it squeaks. Has anyone else had a similar issue?

    Thanks,

    Tim

retorque all the lugnuts because if they are not all the same it can/will cause warping which will cause brakes to squeal.

  3. On the last two cars we have bought with a Nav. unit it came with a DVD and latest had 2 DVD's, one for west and one for the eastern U.S. Anyway the Nav ran of the DVD and I wonder how the Nav in the 2010 Fusion works. Is there a separete DVD slot for the Nav disk or do you put it in the regular DVD slot and it uploads the info to the hard drive. I really couldn't find anything in the guides and haven't received our FFH yet.

  4. Ok, I went to the Sirius Canada site & entered my VIN. It told me that I have Sirius installed on my FORD & call this number to acitivate! What the heck??? It is already active!!!! :headspin:

And Sirius travel link does not work in Canada. :banghead:

You have Sirius for 6 months free and what they mean is they want you to activate it so after 6 months they can start getting some $$ out of ya. On one of the other forums I belong to those cars come with XM and when members go to renew or activate it they him and haw around and state that others have gotten their first year for $77 and they want it too. It is my understanding that they so far have agreed to it. If not I'd just cancel it out and wait a while to see what happens. You could try this with Sirius and see what happens.

Maybe if some of you out there have gotten a deal on sirius besides the multi year deals you could post it here for the rest of us.

  5. An important question for the rest of us, HOW did you manage to scratch it with a squeegee at the gas station? I myself often clean my own windshield at gas stations but cannot imagine how you could manage to scratch it, especially to the point of needing replacement? Please explain how you did that so we all can avoid your pain.

A lot of those places have squeegees that are less than perfect and I can see if the foam/sponge is torn/worn that the metal frame could come in contact with the windshield thus scratching it. If that was the case I'd be going inside right away and filing a complaint and getting said businesses insurance to pay instead of me. But once you leave you're out of luck.

  6. I have a 2007 Fusion with 27,000 kms and I am told that the rotors are warped. Dealership says that they are NOT covered under the 3 year warranty. Was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem. I do not brake hard and I think that it is ridiculous that the rotors would need to be changed with such low mileage.

If you are sure you haven't been riding the brakes or something else that causes them to heat up than it is possible that if you have had your tires rotated that they didn't use a torque wrench when they reinstalled them.

  7. I don't know the real answer, but I bet it was a cost savings decision. We have some awesome technology in the FFH, but to get it at the price we did, they probably cut a number of things that they thought we wouldn't miss. As time goes on, I bet folks will find more things different than only the absence of folding mirrors.

I would bet that a folding mirror wouldn't cost more than a couple of cents more to produce than a non folding one. The way you make it sound like it would cost $50 or more.

  8. Well got this problem solved with my Sill Plates - and just an FYI for others

    if you are considering.

The Fusion/Milan 2008/2009/2010 years all differ in the wiring of the lighted

plates - just slightly. The instructions mention this, but there is no text

    in there to explain exactly.

The dealer was good and fixed this all with a 2nd visit (got to test out my

ESP as this is covered and got a rental) and claimed they had to call Ford Tech line

as the instructions were missing critical info for 2010 cars. All fixed, locks

work, lighted plates go out with the interior light going off. Nothing glows...

    it was weird.

Check everything on your car if you get it back from dealer doing anything electrical

    or custom.

I guess my question is now that you have them would you do it again or do you consider this a novelty item that will wear off in a month or two

  9. Actually, air filters become MORE efficient (at blocking dirt) the dirtier they get. The question is whether they get so dirty that they choke off airflow to the engine.

You're thinking wrong air filter. This is the cabin filter that filters the air conditioning but you are right that it would cause running problems but I have to wonder with everything being computer ran that the computer would kick out a engine light before it got that far.

  10. Well, to really be fair, you paid more than $375 net because when you sell that car you lose the Nav. Maybe you get more money for the sale of the car then you might get without Nav, but with the handheld unit, after selling the car you still have the Nav unit.

I do like the look of the built in Nav on a car, but I agree that they are generally way too expensive. If it breaks, you have to take it in to the dealer as opposed to just sending the item in for replacement. And if the car were to be totalled, the portable might be salvageable (and if not, renters/homeowners insurance covers it), while with the built in you will lose the unit.

If in a wreak you get paid for the car so you get your money. Most insurances don't cover a portable GPS so that you lose. By the time I sell my car the portable will be so outdated that it will need replacing anyways.

  11. Same here! I want to see all the details.

What I think would be cool for future versions is to offer different graphics or colors for the SmartGauge, kind of like how you can change the background on your computer. As it is right now, I don't see much point in changing the Smartgauge from Empower mode and getting the full monty.

What they need is for the leaves to change colors when fall gets here.

  12. I find the Sony System in the Fusion to be very good. If you are a audio expert you may want more, but I think it sounds great.

Here is some information on your question about the Sony Sound System. I don't know if you checked out this link as I found it on another thread in this forum. Read way down where it says Sony meets Sync and they give their thoughts on the Sony System. Hope this is of some help.

  13. You say thousands just for nav but keep in mind you are getting a couple other electronic features for that money. I know you don't want them, but want them or not, they are in the cost, it isn't allllll going in to the nav system. Like others have said, you either want it or ya don't, hence the title "option". One of the best things about having a built in nav... when you get in another persons car, watch them take the extra time to take their system out of the glove box, stick it on the windshield, plug it in, and then start the car.

Point is, I like the idea of getting in to a car and not having to do more than just start it.

Like I said before, you won't know the true cost of the Nav till you sell the car as it will bring more money than one without. Lets say no nav car cost 28000 and nav car cost 30000. When sold in say 5 yers no nav gets 10000 and nav car gets 11000. So the true cost of the nav was only 1000 and 5 years worth of entertainment. NOw subtract the GPS of say 400 for that little dingy one and now the cost is only 600 different. Just went to the NaDA site and checked out the price for the Nav in her car. It was a $2050 option but GM had a rebate of same at that time so didn't cost us for it. Anyway we should be allowed $1175 for it so that equals out to costing us $875 for it minus what a Nuvi 5000 which has a 5" screen and goes for about $500. So in all reality it only cost us $375 to use the nav. Taking it in and out plus taking the chance of getting broken into and my car damaged is worth the $375 to me. Also if they break a window to get in and it just happens to pour down rain you will be in for a treat.

  14. You can certainly have a modified seat put in but it may not be cheap. I don't recall anyone else complaining - it must just be a mismatch between the seat and your body. A custom upholsterer can redo the seat back to fit.

I said the very same thing to someone over on the Camry forum and it was then discussed about all the safety things put in the seats. Some seats have side airbags in the seat itself for example. I don't know about the Fusion but one big point was made that in a wreak they wouldn't be surprised that if the driver is hurt Ford won't take any responsibility for it claiming the seat was changed and not approved. I can just see them doing it. If the poster can't get a good fit for his body then he should look elsewhere. Cause it is no fun on a trip if your body aches.

  15. My first post, and I joined thinking I was going to be a proud new FFH owner. Though after test drives this weekend

I found the front driver seat to be very uncomfortable. It seemed much to narrow and I had the feeling of the edges

on the back of the seat poking me in the lower back kidney area and up on my shoulder blades. I think I'm of average size

6'2" 215 pounds and none of the dealers said that they had ever had someone say the seats were uncomfortable.

I went to 3 different dealers and drove 2 leather seat cars and one fabric. Felt the problem in all three.

Anyone have this problem and it has since passed because maybe the seat broke in. I love everything about the car,

but not having a comfortable front seat would probably keep me from buying the car and I really want to buy it.

If I order a can can I have different seats put in?

    Thank You,

    Jonesy

I'm 6'4" and 270 and I never noticed anything wrong with the seat. Everybodies bodies are shaped differently so a problem for one may not for another. Over on the Camry forum there are a very few who after buying the Camry now complain of neck pains after driving for a while so you may just have to look elsewhere. Sorry.

  16. Simple - the vehicle knows when it's moving and how far it's moving without a GPS signal. So it interpolates based on it's last known position to approximate the current position. Hand held units don't have that feature.

We drove our STS for over a week with out a GPS signal due to waiting for a replacement antenna and it was just as acturate without it. You could still perform any function with or without the GPS signal. A big plus for the built in. We drove through NY City last summer and most of the time do to the tall buildings we didn't get a good signal most of the time. But at least we could find where we were going.

  17. Cars.com's KickingTires blog recently took a look at 6 gas-saving cars, and found the Ford Fusion Hybrid to be a better daily driver than 2010 Prius or Honda Insight. The FFH finished 3rd place overall, just behind the two diesels in the line-up, the VW Jetta TDI and Audi A3 TDI.

KickingTires based its evaluation on 7 categories: price, fuel costs, interior quality, cargo space, driving comfort, ride quality, and driving fun. The goal of the evaluation was to rate "the best daily driver," so KT awarded double points to driving comfort, ride quality, and driving fun.

The FFH had the second-highest "comfort" rating (just below the VW Jetta), and second-highest "driving fun" rating (again, just below the VW Jetta). [Ed. I can't compare to the Jetta, but I do agree that the FFH trounces the Prius in these categories.]

    Way to go, Ford!

I don't know what they met by interior quality but the ones I looked at were very sharp and the panels fit like a glove. Makes you wonder if it wasn't a pre production car.
