  1. 2009 Fusion SEL v6 with SAP in Tuxido Black with Black leather interior. Just turned 46,000 miles. I've owned it since new. Bought in 2008.
  2. Yes, when you see the dash lights dim a bit, that is an indication that the headlights came on. The car is programmed to turn on the headlights when the wipers are on for more than a few seconds.n
  3. 13k for an '09 with only 14k miles is an amazingly cheep price. I have 43k milessnon my 09. Love my fusion. It is very reliable and its not been I. The shop for anything other than normal maintenance. As for the grill, they did not start making the OEM grill in black until 2010 which has a different facia. You might be able to make it work but it will need modifying. There are black billet grills out there if you prefer. Tinting the windows looks nice. I tinted mine and added some black 5 spoke rims. The black out effect looks pretty good on this car.
  4. Nope never dropped it in puddle or any water. Sine the key has the integrated fob I keep it by itself. That is not with any other key. My dealer here in the Dallas area said it was rare but they see this a few times. Thanks for the info. I did not realize the battery only powered the fob actions.
  5. Did your chipped key every die? If so, when did it happen. The back story. Friday I drove home from work like I always do. I get up Saturday morning and my key will not start my 2009 Ford Fusion. My first thought was dead car battery so I hook up the battery charger and the car battery is fine. Next I think maybe the key battery is dead so i grab my spare key which works wonderfully. After driving to Batteries Plus and replacing the key still does not work. After lunch I drive over to the Ford dealership. They try to reprogram the key but it will not even recognize. So, $271.00 later I have a new key for my car. For some reason, after three years of daily use, my key just dies. You think it was jealous I bought a used Miata this year as a weekender?
  6. My 09 Fusionis tuxedo black. I parked next to Lexus the other day, my car was definitely the better liking car.
  7. 2005 Mercury Montego. Mom needed a new car so I gave her a deal on mine and bout the fusion.
  8. Just tuned 36,000 miles on my 2009 Tuxedo Black SEL V6 with SAP. Bought it October of '09
  9. That is pretty much it. The car manufacturers made the assembly so easy to replace by just a click so that is what the vast majority of the consumers want. With convenience comes cost. I find no fault with a parts maker providing a product that consumers are willing to buy.
  10. Jeff, good answer. I, like you, can do the maintenance myself it is just quicker for me to have the dealer do it. But then again, I am probably not as good at it as you. I haven't worked on a car since high school and that was because I couldn't afford for anyone else to do it for me.
  11. Last year I sold my mother my 2005 Mercury Montego Premier when her old Cadillac started having repeated problems. I bought a 2009 Ford Fusion SEL V6 (Sport Appearance Package) in Tuxedo Black as a replacement. It is not the big comfy car my Mercury is but it sure does zip through town nicely. A very happy repeat Ford owner.
