mwatkins01
I own a 2007, 4 cylinder fusion. Within the 16,000 miles and year and a half I have driven it, I have had to be towed to the dealership twice and driven myself in twice, only to have the mechanics replace the same transmission sensor twice and tell me that they had no idea what was wrong and simply reset the system the other two times. I don't understand what is going on and I don't know what else to do. --When it is acting up, I will start the car and when I put it in drive it runs fine for a little while; however, within 10 minutes or so when I am only going 35 or 40 mph, I am at 3000-4000 rpm. Following, the transmission light and check engine light come on and it won't accelerate. Yesterday, it was acting up but this time when I pressed the brakes there was a clicking sound on the passenger side. When I turned the car off and let it sit for awhile I turned it back on and the transmission light cut off and the clicking noise went away; but, the check engine light remained on.-- Please help me, it is nothing more than an inconvenience right now because I still have warranty. However, in a year and a half, I can't afford to take my car into the shop 4 times a year for them to tell me they don't understand whats going on or they keep replacing the same part. I would think that something has to be tripping the sensor but they haven't been able to say that, they just replace the sensor and I end up right back in the shop. If anyone has any ideas or information I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

akirby
well if it went to the dealer four times for the same reason it falls under the lemon law act check your states policy Actually, if the dealer tried and failed to fix it four times it's time to try another dealer. Sounds like they're not diagnosing it properly.
DaveM
well if it went to the dealer four times for the same reason it falls under the lemon law act check your states policy Or I'd find a dealer that knew what he was doing or wanted to take the time needed to find the problem. I feel the big problem is the mechanics are paid by the job so don't want to spend the time to trace a problem down. Call the factory, explain the problem and tell them they have one more chance to fix it or you will invoke the lemon law and they have just one week to do it. Also tell them you will be putting lemon signs in all the windows to show people what you have. That is always good for business. Of course this is as a last draw.
