Grey
Ford just told dealers that the positive reception to the open allocation from dealers nationwide has prompted them to extend the open allocation until June 30. This will help customers that don't live in the high "Hybrid" penetration markets to get their vehicle scheduled sooner. By the end of June, there will be hundreds of Fusion and Milan Hybrids on the streets, so those buyers on the fence, can see first hand what a great pair of vehicles they are. The tax incentives - sales tax and alternative fuel vehicle tax credits should bring in many more buyers. :happy feet:

akirby
What does "open allocation" mean? It means that they will build and ship customer ordered vehicles in order regardless of which dealer ordered it and what their normal allocation will be. Normally if a dealer only gets 3 vehicles in their allocation that's all they can sell. If you're 4th in line at that dealer you're SOL. With the new program the dealer could have an allocation of 3 vehicles but if they have 10 customers who order one they'll get all 10, then they'll get their normal allocation of 3 (if there are any left).
