Ihatemyfordfusion11
I have a 2011 Ford Fusion SE. I have had nothing but problems since it came home from the Dealeship. The transmission slips while shifting, as well as a very hard shift. When the car is first started, the start is hard, followed by a loud annoying ticking noise that will not go away. I also have problems with the brakes, passenger side airbag light randomly goes off, and a 2 page list with problems. I have been to the dealer once already to be told that there is nothing wrong. I have spoken with an Allen in Ford's Customer Team who now for 3 days has not returned one phone call. I was supposed to take it back to the dealer but now have no confirmation of an appointment and Ford to put out the bill for the rental. I will have to make my own appt and now put out the money for the rental car. Thank you Ford for bringing me a new headache and what a way to treat a new Ford owner. I will not recommend Ford to anyone I know and amazed how they will not take ownership of the problems being brought to them. Found on Road Dead - FORD lives up to their reputation.

xmech2k
In your book with the owners manual is documentation for how to resolve issues like this, and probably even info on how to deal with the lemon law. Sorry you got such a lemon, but sounds like you need to look into that. There are certain steps you need to take, and documents you need to keep for proof, etc. Just keep all your ducks in a row.

Please try taking it to another dealer if the original one can't fix the problems. Sometimes you just get a less than competent service department that turns a simple one time fix into a nightmare. Then again sometimes it is a lemon or a very difficult problem. Good luck either way.
con_fusion
Hmmm... this seems to be the first time I've seen a 2011 owner mentioning transmission slipping/shifting concerns. Hope they can get this resolved.

Pardon my skepticism, but I have serious doubts on the validity of any of this. Vague, two exact copies of the same post in different forum headings, and not a hint of asking for any kind of advice or answers. Either that, or sorry to say, you picked a very poor dealership. Many of the "problems" you list should have been caught during the pre-delivery inspection. Where is the transmission slipping/hard? All shifts? Just a couple, e.g., 2>3? Is this an automatic or manual? What kind of brake problems? What else is going on when the "passenger side airbag light randomly goes off"? Is there anyone/thing in the seat? Have you even looked at your owners manual? The light is designed to turn off when the seat is completely empty. What else is on this "2 page list"? Regarding the rental issue, Ford will provide a loaner/rental car IF your car has to stay overnight, per the papers that should have come with your car. Until you provide us with some actual details on your issues, there is nothing we can do to try and help you. If you're just venting, please take it to an appropriate forum...e.g., the Lounge. xmech2k
I must agree with dabige. I started writing a similar post, but just shrugged and thought what's the use? Maybe it's true, but too much sounds too fishy. I guess if it's true, this sheds light on one issue of frustration of many adults: literacy. 'ihatemyfordfusion11' is not getting his information across very well, adding to my skepticism. When the car is first started, the start is hard, It's hard to start the engine on the first try? The transmission slips while shifting, as well as a very hard shift. I don't think I've ever heard those problems together, although maybe he or she means the engine revs between gears, than when it catches, it catches hard. I will have to make my own appt They don't make themselves! Of course, perhaps english is a 2nd language for ihatemyfordfusion11, and he or she is actually communicating well considering. Another reason I try to bite my tongue in similar situations. I just didn't want dabige to be left standing out in the rain alone on this one!

I debated hitting the Post button, thinking similar thoughts as you. Regardless of the brand, one of my pet-peeves is people who make generic/vague troll-like comments.:glare: I also had thought of English not being their primary language, but usually those people will excuse themselves before they begin the rest of what they have to say. Whatever the case, thanks for sticking up for me. :beerchug:
Soccerguy48025
I would like to agree with Ihatemyfordfusion11 I am not the least bit surprised that the 2011 Fusions are still having transmission problems. Right after Thanksgiving I got my 2010 back from the dealer after having an overhaul done on the transmission. I got a new valve body, clutches, piston, seals, gaskets, and all the lastest PCM software updates. My car still drives like a broken down hooptie. It would naturally only makes sense that the 2011s would be driving extremely similar to my car since the dealer has already done every modification possible to my trans that is currently available. I have also expierenced problems with my air bag lights before. I used to have the air bag malfunction indicator lamp illuminate on the dashboard in addition to the passenger airbag off lamp never illuminating at all. Whenever I would place a bag of groceries or another heavy object on the front passenger seat the light would never come on. I reported these issues to the dealership. My service advisor told me one story, then later on they told me another story, then my service invoice I received contained another different story. Basically, long story short, they were all a pack of lies. But, the dealer somehow magically fixed the problem. Ever since I got the car back from that visit the air bag malfunction lamp has never come on again, and whenever I place a heavy object or grocery bag on the front passenger seat, wallah, passenger air bag off light illuminates quickly. So, this is just another safety related issue Ford is hiding from us and lieing to us about.

Hi Ihatemyfordfusion11: Please see my post above. I would try another dealership, even if you have to drive farther away it may be well worth it. Be sure to save ALL work orders in a safe place in case you are able to qualify for lemon law in the future. Beachboy
"ihatemyfordfusion11", your screen name alone indicates that you intend to permanently hate your car regardless of whether or not your problems are resolved. Are you a 16 year old kid whose parents bought you a new Fusion and you wanted a Camaro instead? I've seen this very animosity happen a lot when someone acquires a vehicle not of their choosing -- nothing is ever "right" with it and they will make any excuse to get rid of it. Are you a former import owner who has long hated domestic cars and was talked into trying a domestic car, and your bias just won't allow you to find anything right with this vehicle? My 2010 Milan was delivered in outstanding conditon and after 15,000 miles, no quality issues have surfaced. Although I have a few gripes with my car, they're more of a design nature and/or marketing nature, rather than manufacturing quality or dealer support. With today's quality control, and the reputation the Fusion and Milan have garnered since their introduction several years ago, I just have a problem believing your particular Fusion is anywhere as bad as you say it is. If I was as miserable with a brand new car as you are, I'd be trading it in as quickly as possible and buying whatever you really wanted to start with.

What I'm trying to say is you don't see alot of posts saying how much they love their fusion.......That doesn't mean alot of people hate their fusions, they just don't post about non-problems...Something to think about when reading these posts>>>> I do agree that his/her screen name ( ihatemyfordfusion11) has premeditated hate written all over it!!!!! I have a 2010 3.0 V6 with the 6F35 Tranny with 12,000 miles & never had problems with shifting.....Mine shifts smooth as silk and never seems "confused" like other posts....Just by hearing all the complaints, seems to me that bad software is causing mechanical failure.......or......Mechanical failure is causing computer to go haywire....or.......both.....You never know with these new vehicles ( computers ) today.....Of course, it could be something simple like bad calibrations on the dipstick for the tranny fluid......In my mechanical background, all these problems could be the result of low fluid or low fluid pressure which means harsh shifts, burnt clutches, confused shifting, etc...As a huge FORD FAN, I would like to know the cause of these problems with this squirlly trans just in case my car decides to take the same track as others.....but so far so good.....LOVE THIS CAR.... Juice, are you still having an issue witth the shuddering at 40mph? Also, since you are on your second Fusion, what was the build date? Was yours included in the 10B15 date range? Thanks YesI still have the shudder but very slighty.......It isn't getting worse or better........My build date is March 2010....Don't have exact date but I would assume that my car was fixed at the factory because I've always had smooth as silk shifts......On the other 2010 Fusion I had, forget about it, it must have been made on a Friday......of course that car was the 2.5 4 cyl.....But what gets me is that there are still complaints with the 6F35 tranny on the 2011 Fusions......Still concerned about the reliability on this transmission even though mine is perfect.....

As of December 30, 2010 my car has all the latest software updates and I am still experiencing harsh and confused shifting. It is possible that you may NOT be noticing any of the crazy shifting due to your very own driving habits and conditions. Try driving some new or different routes in the future, you may be surprised. My transmission seems to act up the most between 25 and 40 mph. Especially around 28 and 35 mph! Like2angle
My 2011 Fusion SE has 3000 miles on it with 0 issues. In fact typing on this iPad is more of an issue than my transmit ion. Sounds to me like that poster could never be happy no mater what the dealer does and how well the car works. The poor dealer is caught in a no win scenario.
