whitey
Hello Gents, The time has come to unload my Fusion (got a new Taurus company car). My concern is that I may have a hard time selling it due to its high mileage. It's a 2008 SEL (I4) with 98,000 miles on it. It's got the factory nav. SYNC moon & tune package, etc. I went to CARMAX just to se what they were offering and they came back with $7000. It's extremely clean and well maintaned. It did suffer from the famouse broken door handle and a screaming tensioner pulley, both of which were replaced. I'd like to get over $10K for it. Am I being too optomistic?
redfire06
if you have the records you can probably get close. i was offered $6,500 for my 06 SE V6 on a trade and that just hit 110k if i got that as a trade offer i figure i can get $8ish for it private. i am a maintenance freak (syn oil every 4k etc) and keep all records so people know what they are getting (and i did a door handle as well!)
Goneracin
im not too familiar with how well the fusions in particular hold their value, but i will tell you that if you get the car above 100k the price drops signifigantly. i dont know what is wrong with people, but they will pay $10,000 for a car with 99,000 miles, but that same car with 101,000 miles wont get more than $8000. thats just what i have learned from working at a garage that sold used cars. it doesnt make any sence to me, but it is the truth. atleast in my experiences
ghoneycutt
Hi Whitey, if you go to KBB.com ( Kelly Blue Book ) you will find a section whats my currant car worth, that should give you a good idea on its value. George

norbs8
7k isn't a bad deal and I'd take it. Idk what you privet seller laws for responsibility are up there but sometimes its more hassle here to sell the car privily to make a few more bucks then just sell to a dealer, because you need to tell them nothing. I got my 2010 v6 se supper clean 40k milesd and upgraded for 3k under bluebook for a dealer, they are trying to move them since these epic 2013s are coming out. My advice take the 7 and run Edited June 11, 2012 by norbs8
