Navigation Holdup in 2012

Recommended Posts

Hey Everyone,

I'm new here and can't wait to get the 2012 FF SEL AWD I ordered!

I ordered it the beginning of June and found out it hasn't been started yet!

Anyone hear anything about navigation issues?? Not sure what's up but this is the reason for the hold up.

I was told my car would arrive in 8-12 weeks, does that sound right?

Thank you in advance for any info you may have.

Happy Driving!

November for Fusion, Escape and Flex Nav. units. Trucks TBD.

Ask your sales person to check it for you. Things can change.

What is the My Touch Nav?? Sorry, haven't had a Ford for a while. Salesperson said as of 6/23 car still not started but the delivery time of 8-12 weeks has not changed. He said I SHOULD still have the car the first week of Sept. Wouldn't they just start the car and worry about the nav later?? I cannot wait until November for this car although it would be easier to sell my Envoy in the winter. If they don't start it soon they're going to hear me!

Thanks for listening and your help.

Where do you find true updated info on Ford??

What is the My Touch Nav??

The Ford MyTouch is the 2nd Generation Ford Sync. It was rolled out in the 2011 Edge and 2012 Focus which has a fancy animated display on the dash panel and the center panel if paired with a NAV, but unfortunately nothing for the 2012 Fusion, I think it will be provided in the 2013 new generation It requires a totally different gauge dash as well as the NAV screen Unit. the newer Lincolns have Lincoln Mytouch.

Dealerships have access to the Ford intranet for scheduling and availability information. We can't get to it. They can check their Dealer News Bulletin for ordering and build information. Other sites give them status information on specific vehicles.

Ask if they have a DORA for your vehicle yet, and if your unit can be scheduled. Sounds like you are not getting the full information.

No, in the large scale assembly of cars they don't want half made cars hanging around, so they wait till they have all the parts, then send it through the assembly line till it's driving out the back door complete. Then hopefully loaded onto a truck / train and shipped off.

EDIT: Oops, didn't see this is an old thread.

I ordered a 2012 Fusion Hybrid in mid June. I am told that the car is built but waiting the navigation system. No one is telling me how long. If it's really November, why in the world would they have taken orders in June?

They don't normally build vehicles with missing parts. If it's on hold due to Nav then it hasn't been built yet. There are some Nav systems available, just not enough for all vehicle lines. And word is they may be reappearing sooner than November.
