Why Do People Lie About Their Gas Milage?

That's too bad. Mine is getting over 18 combined with only 750 miles. Road trip this weekend so we'll see how it does.

Yeah, I was hoping there would be something "wrong" with the car that showed up on the computer that would have allowed them to "fix" it but no such luck. Some cars get good mileage, like yours, and some get bad mileage, like ours. My wife and I are both gentle drivers and we do not idle it to let it warm up in the mornings.

Short trip. Got 26.5 on the open road. Slightly over 21 combined. A lot of city driving at the destination.

That's really great, especially since you have so few miles on the odometer. Sunday, Feb. 11, was our last fill-up: 258.8 miles driven; 14.115 gallons for an average of 18.3 mpg, but 150 miles of this (58 percent) was for a highway trip, meaning we are still only getting a horrific 13 mpg in city driving after 1,762 miles on our AWD. This stinks for a 3,300-pound, mid-size car in the year 2007.

Going to put the AWD to the test. It seems we have 6 to 10 inches of snow coming. Wish me luck............

Same here for Detroit. And my Fusion is at the dealer. Need it back tonight, want to get some shots of the car sliding sideways through unplowed parking lots...if my wife doesn't kill the camera man with the front bumper.

The Fusion e-brake works great in the snow.

Jimmy, be sure and let us know how you made out. I am curious, as I'm sure other forum members are, too.

So far it's working flawlessly. We've got blizzard warnings just west of us so I'm not going to venture out for a while. Just got back from the nursing home on some pretty bad roads. Straight as an arrow from dead stop in a ton of snow. A lot of people slipping and sliding on the snow but this car had no trouble. :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:

Your snow is our rain. You are welcome to our share. I actually would not have opted for AWD, the car on the lot just came that way. We pretty much wanted everything else. I guess it is an added safety and handling feature, but one we will probably only need two or three days a year for snow, if that. I guess it, AWD, is a plus on wet roads, too, though. Still, it's not a feature I would have ordered.
