MMCB
I am going to replace the rear brakes on my 2010 FFH tomorrow. I know the Hybrid has regenerative braking. Is there anything I need to be aware of in terms of electrical items that need to be disconnected before removing pads and rotors?
jeff_h
Not that I'm aware of, I also have 2010 FFH... I've taken the calipers off at 60,000 (wondering if they needed to be changed) and again at 110,000 (thinking surely they needed to be changed, but nope), nothing out of the ordinary. I removed the calipers but not the rotors, but don't think there is anything special about those either. I remember my wife's Escape Hybrid manual had some caveat in there before disassembling the brakes, but I just checked the FFH manual and didn't see anything special noted in there.

jeff_h
I made that above post back in July with 120k miles, and now at 140k miles I've ordered another new FFH and will be selling this one to a friend, so in preparation for that I replaced the brakes today since the new pads have been sitting in boxes on a garage shelf for two years. Turns out that just like in the above post, they still had a lot of meat left on them - but I changed them anyway. Take a look at the comparison to the old vs new pads on each wheel, yeah most of my driving is on I-95 but a lot of that is bumper-to-bumper stop-n-go, however just being smooth on the brakes will help them last a long long time!
FusionDiffusion
Wow, it looks like you still had like 75% of the pads there so you could probably go 300-400k without replacing the brakes! I guess that shows you really have the regenerative braking stuff down pat, so I'll say congratulations.
